Five Finger Discounts...{Closed} « Thread Started on Feb 5, 2007, 4:10pm »
Loketi had found the shopping centre after a while of wondering the city streets, at least she'd found the upper class expensive looking one. She sat in the food court on the wall of a water fountain, she had the cash from the man's wallet in her pocket, the man from the train station. He would be buying her food and toiletries for the warehouse with Rain.
She smiled slightly as she thought of Ancient, maybe the next guy's wallet could buy Ancient a toy.
She had her hands in her pockets and she was looking around, this place was juicy alright, everyone walking around had expensive bags from expensive boutiques and Loketi could see other signs that showed they were all well off...
Then there was her, she must have stood out like a stick in the mud. Dark make up all around her eyes, baggy jeans and a black singlet top. No bags, no purse, and an attitude just waiting to come out and greet the residents of the city.
She made a small splash in the pool of water before standing up and starting to walk through the tables.

Nils was watching the people in the food court. He didn't blend in that much, but he really didn't stand out. it was his day off today and he was enjoying it in the mall. He needed to find a gift to give Angie for her coming up birthday anyways. He walked through the courtyard looking around then he walked through the mall.
He looked around at the shops and smiled when he saw a very nice guitar in the window of a small music shop. He looked at it for a moment then realized it was the one Angie had been saving up for. The only difference was it was about two hundred dollars cheaper. He walked into the store and looked through a few things then went to the counter to try and haggle for the guitar. He came out about twenty minutes later. He was going to pick up the guitar on his way back so he wouldn't have to lug it around the mall the whole time.

Loketi walked with her head held high, she was one who relied on no one, she worked alone, lived alone, kind of, and she liked it. She was good at it, it saved her having to deal with emotions, hers and those of other people.
She was looking confident, and her blue green eyes were searching for her next donor. Anyone here qualified for the position, after all, unless you were like Loketi, and looking for a rich wallet, you were the one with the rich wallet.
She knew not to go for ladies who had hand bags, unless they were carrying lots and lots of shopping bags. She smiled as she saw a small group of women that fitted her description. They were lovely looking older ladies.
She made a beeline in their direction, lowering her head so she had an excuse for the collision about to take place.
Loketi gasped and let herself fall to the floor as she banged into a bunch of bags. The woman holding the bags fell also and the bags spread out on the floor.
"I'm sorry!" Loketi immediately pulled herself up and started trying to help pack the bags up, her eyes looking for the woman's purse amongst the mess.

Nils was walking behind the group of ladies and noticed the girl. She didn't seem like she belonged in this type of place. He saw them collide and realized what she might be doing.
He walked over and looked down. "Here let me help you ladies." He said kindly helping the woman up. He looked down at the mess and picked up the ladies purse and handed it to her then got crouched down and started to help to gather up the bags.

Loketi had shoved some of the woman's groceries into a bag and stood it up when she heard another voice. Her heart jumped to start with, security! She'd been here less than an hour and they were already onto her.
She looked up and saw the man help the woman up and then frowned as she continued to clean up the mess, knowing full well that he was giving the woman her purse before Loketi had reached it.
The woman blushed at the man and muttered a thanks as she and her friends watched him and the clumsy girl pack up the mess. When it was done, the girl stood up and gave them a sweet smile. "I'm so sorry, I really should pay more attention to where I am walking." She said. "It's alright, no harm done." The woman said returning her smile.
Loketi nodded a goodbye and started to walk off, she'd have to find another doner. Though, she'd keep her eye on the man. There was something fishy about him.

He looked to the lady and nodded then watched the girl. He came up behind her and looked at her.
"You know, if you're going to try and steal from someone, you would have a better chance of getting what you want on the streets. There aren't any security guards to chase after you."
He said casually looking around then down at her as he walked beside her. He stuck his hands in the pocket of his jeans. She really did stick out like a sore thumb here.

Loketi stopped when she heard the man talk behind her. She frowned and turned around angrily.
"How dare you presume what you just did!" She said, her voice was angry though low. "I cannot believe you would accuse a compete stranger of a crime." She shook her head and started to walk away.
The nerve!
Just because it was true, didn't mean she couldn't deny it and cause a marvellous scene that could make her seem to be the victim.
She stopped before she walked too far and turned around again, her hair flicking around her face and shoulders. "I stick out here, because I choose to." She said putting a finger on her chest. "My mother would be so insulted to hear about this." She added, turning to leave again.

"I'm not stupid. I saw you coming and I knew what you were up to. You call it police intuition if you want, but next time you wanna try and steal something you may want to make sure there aren't any off duty, or even on duty, police officers close by." He snapped at her in his thick Greek accent. He watched her as she stopped and turned around.
"Excuse me, but I wasn't trying to insult you when I said that you stick out here. That is a good thing though, because all the people here with a few small exceptions are arrogant rich people." He said watching her leave. He walked over to a table and sat down watching the people around him as they walked by.

Loketi ignored the last thing that man said, as if she had meant the lies she had told him. Police intuition... She tossed her hair behind her and shook her head angrily, perhaps she'd show him police intuition was useless some time later.
She left the centre and decided to try for the city streets.
