Kaetlyn kicked the autumn leaves with her shoes as she walked on the very edge of the footpath around the lake, that was where the leaves gathered the most.
She loved Autumn, when the trees were alight with the fiery red of the dying leaves, when the paths were crunching under her feet.

There was a light breeze that gently blew her hair behind her as she walked. The nightmares had happened to her every night since she and Leith had made love. She pulled her blue jacket around her tighter as she walked to fight the cool in the breeze.

She hadn't been able to tell Leith about the nightmare, she couldn't bring herself to do it. She wore her ring all the time now, she had given up on wondering whether her father would notice, she hardly saw him enough to think he would notice if she shaved her head, let alone a small ring on her hand.
