She couldn't believe a stick... a stick was going to tell her something. Jaiden glared at it. Waiting. She had already done 4 others and they had all given her the same answer. She was waiting for one to tell her differently. She couldn't be. Just couldn't be. It was impossible. Like seriously impossible. Jaiden bit her nails, something she didn't do often only when nervous. It had been 2 months since her last period, Jaiden had just put it down to stress. With the new bosses and such. Having to be more careful. Alright... a couple of minutes had passed. Jaiden lent forwards and looked. She went pale again for the 5th time in a space of 3 hours. She frowned and shook her head. Impossible.
Jaiden got up off the floor and threw the test in the bin. She walked out into her lounge room and clenched her hair, she opened her mouth to scream but nothing came out. She was royally fucked. Abousoluty fucked. She shook her head. What was she going to do?
She looked around, she needed help.
But who?
There wasn't a long line of people she could run too if she was in need of help.
"Well, I’m here if you need me…”
Jaiden grabbed her phone and breathed out. She went through her contacts on the phone she used for Raphael and found Alexi's mobile number. She pressed it and begun to listen to it ring, praying to god he'd pick up.

Alexi was in the middle of shaving when he heard the phone ringing in his bedroom. He looked at his reflection in the mirror. His face was still half-slathered in foam. He contemplated whether to answer it or not. He would have liked to ignore it but it seemed these days that any phone call he received was important; at least it always seemed like it to the person calling him. Alas Alexi wasn’t the type to ignore people, especially when it really could have been important. Their problems were always more important than his own. He sighed and put down the razor. He then scooped up a handful of water and splashed it over his face. Streaks dripped down his naked torso and he hastily towelled off the residual with a small handtowel. He carried the towel with him into his bedroom. His phone was vibrating on the nightstand and he walked over to it and picked it up. Strangely Alexi didn’t recognise the number. He frowned and then accepted the call.
“Hello?” He said, wondering who on earth it could be.

Jaiden relaxed slightly as she heard Alexi's voice as he answered his phone. But what was she meant to say to him...? 'Hey there, I'm pregnant, you're not the father but I want to drag you into it' or maybe 'I'm carrying some extra load... what do I do?' Like Alexi was going to know that... "Alexi, it's Jaiden" she answered him after a few moments silence, thankful he hadn't hung up "I have a problem. A serious problem"

Jaiden?
Alexi’s brain raced instantly. The fact that she was calling him was not a good sign. Not to say he didn’t want to speak with Jaiden, but the fact that she was calling him meant that something had gone horribly wrong. He felt a knot forming in his gut. This was no social call he knew, which was confirmed a few moments later when she told him that she had a serious problem. She’d been compromised obviously. He’d been dreading this call, even though he was glad that she had made it. It was better than finding out that somebody had discovered her body floating in the river.
“How can I help?” He asked quietly, his voice betraying what seemed like genuine concern.

Jaiden stopped for a moment. How could he help? It's not like this was his kid. They had just kissed, end of story. God... who was the father? There was... not so many possibilities. A hand full at the most though... "Could you come around to my house?" she asked. She knew she would be ok until someone found out. But she hoped in trusting this to Alexi no one would find out. She didn't know what to do. She gave him her address in case he didn't know where she lived and sat down on the couch, her shaking hand holding onto the phone like it was the only thing that could save her.

Alexi sat down on the bed as he waited for a response. It shocked him when it came. Could he come round to her house? She was kidding right? Her request violated every rule in the book. Her house was possibly tapped for one thing. Well, probably not so likely unless she was compromised even slightly, but was it worth gambling either of their lives on? Ordinarily no. Not to mention if anybody saw him there and he was recognised… It would be all-over-Rover for poor Jaiden. He contemplated this. Jaiden was a professional. She knew full well the protocols that they had agreed to and yet still she was asking this of him. No doubt Jaiden had her reasons and, as she had pointed out, she had a serious problem. This likely meant that she wouldn’t be going back to the twins. What other explanation could there be? Other scenarios popped into his head. She could have found something in her house? Someone? She could have killed somebody and wanted him to help her dispose of the body. Then it occurred to him that maybe this was a trap. Perhaps they were listening in and her disregard for protocol was her way of tipping him off. Alexi didn’t know what to think. He didn’t know what to say. He’d never been to her house, although it wouldn’t have been too difficult to find out. After a few seconds of silence, he finally spoke.
“Okay Jaiden,” he replied. “Give me your address.”
He scrambled for a pen and something to write on and started taking down her details.
“Are you really certain that you want me to come to your house?”

Jaiden rubbed her forehead, she was stressing out about this. She nodded though she knew that Alexi wouldn't be able to see her. She knew it was dangerous for him to come here but she could make something up if she was being spied on. She breathed out with a shaky breath "Yes" she told him "I... can't tell you this anywhere else" she added, she didn't want to go out into public and announce this. Jaiden bit her lip "I really need your help" she told him, her voice, her tone expressing truly how much she needed him.

Alexi stared down at his bare feet, although he wasn’t really looking at them. Something told him that this wasn’t a trap. At least, if it was, she wasn’t trying to tip him off with her disregard for protocol. That didn’t mean it wasn’t a trap. Nevertheless she had him worried. There was a sense of urgency that he’d never detected in her voice. Although, he rationalised, they’d never really spoken on the phone before. He looked at the display. The caller id was blocked which told him little.

Jaiden shivered a little as she walked to the window and looked around, her street was a quiet one off the main roads, not many people had ever come back here. In fact maybe only one or two "Yes, please. The sooner the better" she said then looking down at her stomach. A strange idea popped into her mind. She could always ram her stomach into the table or something... miscarriage? No, Jaiden wasn't a murderer. She left that to the professionals, though that wasn't to say she hadn't killed one or two people. ... She needed alcohol, her mind quickly shifted and her eyes darted around her house only to find there wasn't any such delightful liquid. "Thank you Alexi, this does mean a lot" she said quietly, remembering she was still on the phone.

Alexi didn’t know what to think. He was confused. Her tone sounded desperate and scared. He’d never seen her like this. He sensed that she was barely keeping it together. He’d promised her that he’d help if she needed it.
“You don’t want me to tell Raphael obviously…” It wasn’t a question. It was a statement. “Do I need to bring anything?”
He didn’t know how else to word it without being obvious.

Jaiden shook her head, that was the last thing she needed. Raphael knowing. Oh god... what if he... Jaiden breathed in and walked over to the couch. No she was a very careful person. Maybe she had been drunk so badly she couldn't remember shagging someone. Or maybe she had been drugged? Jaiden bit her lip and answered Alexi "No, just yourself" she said, she had quickly thought for a moment about asking for another pregnancy test but she didn't want to give it away over the phone.

Alexi had meant whether she’d wanted him to come armed. Her reaction gave him pause and he hesitated as if sensing that she might add more and he bit down on his bottom lip; but she didn’t. He nodded to himself.
“No problems,” he replied in a calm tone. “I’ll be there shortly.”
He hung up the phone. He was hoping for some sort of a hint but, like a boy scout, he’d just have to prepare for whatever scenario that he could think of and hope that he hadn’t severely underestimated the severity of the situation. In his and Jaiden’s world, one couldn’t be too careful.
Half an hour later Alexi found himself circling around the block in an old white Ford Transit. This was crazy, he decided. He didn’t like this at all. He couldn’t for the world of him figure out what was going on. He’d left a message for Raphael. If anything went wrong he’d find it. If it didn’t then Alexi would be back in time to destroy it. Alexi parked outside of a big block of apartments and stepped out of the car looking nothing like his usual self. He wore steel cap work-boots, a navy mechanics overalls with a matching blue cap; even a fake moustache had been stuck above his upper lip. He pulled out an old Hessian backpack, one typically used by workmen and slung it idly over one shoulder. Head lowered, he peered from under the lip of the cap and surveyed his surroundings. Another couple of minutes after he’d assured himself that nothing in the street was out of place, he approached the door to her house and knocked on the door that Jaiden had given him the address to.

Jaiden had placed herself in her room, sitting on the edge of her bed as she bit the inside of her lip almost so much it was beginning to bleed a little. She was still struggling with what was going on, how it happened and well. What she was going to do. She knew she was screwed. She jumped when she heard the knock on the door and looked straight up, from her room she could see the door. Her heart froze and she slowly stood up, praying it was Alexi. She walked calmly over to the window next to the door and pushed the curtain aside to see how it was. She raised an eye brow when she saw the gear and the mustache. That wasn't him.She stood back, who ever it was would have noticed her look through the window. She opened the door and popped her head out "Yes?" she asked then frowning gently as she saw the face a little more clearly "Alexi" she muttered stepping back and opening the door "Please, come in" she frowned, her heart a little more relaxed now she knew who it was.
