Imogen honestly didn’t know what to do. She’d gone from one mess to another and this little side venture wasn’t helping any, but she didn’t really have a destination anyway. Perhaps if she had a weapon of sorts, she could scare the girl into giving her purse back. Somehow she had never pictured herself wielding any sort of weapon. Even a fly squatter had felt barbaric in her hands. Insects, she could kill insects, especially when it came to cockroaches. For some reason she reacted badly to even the thought of cockroaches and Imogen was downright vicious with the can of Mortein. Maybe she was a killer? Was there a big difference between cockroaches and people after all? They couldn’t help what they were. Oh God, I’m cracking up, Imogen thought to herself as she tailed the two youths, head bowed under the cap. She knew one thing, if she survived the week, then she wouldn’t be the same person as she’d been before all this. She’d come to realise that there were a lot bigger and nastier insects that really did mean to do her harm.

(sorry took me so long to reply ! :-[)

Loketi frown and looked at Rain as she talked about the warehouse. No, it wasn't a house, but it was the closest thing people like them had to a home.

Rain started to mutter, her words repeated and Loketi sighed and looked ahead, making sure she turned at the right corner to head out towards the industrial estate. She knew the police would be arriving at the Cafe by now, whether the owner did anything and choose to charge Rain for anything or whether he left it and remained quiet, after all, he had been completely ripping Rain off, Loketi was willing to bet she wasn't the only girl he'd taken advantage of, and she would also bet that Rain hadn't been the only one to explode in the shop because of it.

Rain stuck close to Loketi, just muttering words to herself. A couple of times she stumbled into Loketi but otherwise she just seemed to be crazy as normal. When they turned towards the warehouse estate. She looked at Loketi, whispering ‘Sorry’ a couple of times. She knew Loketi was trying to keep a low profile and this mustn’t have been thought as keeping a low profile. She swallowed “People walk in and out of the shop like they do in lives, in and out. In and out . In and out. In and out. In and out” she muttered shaking her head then breathing in deeply “Out…”

“They leave what they want, take what they want and you never are meant to see them again, if you see them again it is by micrale… no chance, by chance that you are meeting with them again… Ah! It never makes sense, why do people walk in and out? In and out? That’s all they do, why can’t they stay? Why can’t you mean something to them and they mean something to you. Why can’t you learn their names, maybe they have interesting names unlike Bob, Frank and Joe or Mary and Sarah” Rain didn’t know what she was saying, it was just blurting out like rubbish, but it was quiet “I want to know them, I want to know their memories… I want to know my memories...”

Imogen glancing around for inspiration or ideas on what she could do. Perhaps she should just turn back. It was only a photo after all. Tears instantly welled up in her eyes. She wanted to pinch herself. Only a photograph… There would be others. The thoughts felt hollow in her mind. At least with a photograph she wouldn’t feel like she was going to die all alone. It reminded her of why she’d left. Damn her rotten luck! How did somebody who many considered blessed drop so low in such a short time? She sniffed and glanced up to see where they were. What if the girl hadn’t stolen her purse? What if she’d dropped it? Perhaps somebody else had pinched it? Imogen wasn’t certain of anything any more. She slowed, contemplating going back to her vehicle before she’d dug herself into a deeper hole.

“Please God,” she whispered under her breath. “I know it’s been a long time, but I’m lost and I don’t know what to do…”

The admission brought a lump to her throat that threatened to choke her.

“I can’t do this…” she whispered to the great deity and sniffed again.

Loketi tried not to take too much notice of what Rain muttered as they walked. Her main issue was keeping under wraps. She kept looking around, trying to spot police or another waitress from the cafe.

"Shhh." She hissed, trying to hush Rain as she babbled on about ins and outs. "Thats the way life is Rain. People hardly ever stick around." Especially when you need them.

She let go of a sigh and looked at Rain as she said she wanted to know them. She shook her head slowly. "You get to know friends, not people you serve in a restaurant." She muttered. She heaved a sigh when Rain said she wanted to know her memories, and she frowned, but didn't stop them walking.
"Memories don't matter Rain. The present is what matters. " She wished she could believe what she was saying, but her past always caught up with her.
